WHAT WE DO
Our approach is to use elements of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math (STEAM) and Cooking to educate and encourage curiosity about food, nutrition and health
HOW WE DO IT
Develop fun and engaging, hands-on, STEAM-based food, nutrition and health education programs for school-aged children and families that are presently in an online at-home learning format.
Our vision is to promote food and nutrition literacy that will translate to improved eating habits, decreasing overweight and obesity, and enhancing overall health.
Typically 45 to 60 minute hands-on, workshop style lessons for classroom size groups of students. They can be done in-school or after-school. Programs are tailored to student grade level and are aimed to align with MA STEM curriculum/NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) framework
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
Interactive presentations, exhibit style demonstrations, hands-on activities, that meet the needs of food, nutrition and wellness education at museums, science festivals, and community centers.
Work with schools to develop nutrition and physical activity initiatives, write grants, provide resources to improve school health and wellness
Provide nutrition expertise/consultation services and engage in research collaborations to study the impact of FANSE Kids nutrition curriculum on eating habits, food choices and in the long term
